Recent Harbour Activity
The harbour has been busy these past few weeks, with cargo vessels arriving loaded with towheads for Subsea 7, wind turbine components, pipes and lime.
Recent vessels included the Wilson Waal, Allora and Aramis — a real reminder of how much life and industry flows through our port every day supporting the local north economy.
We were especially delighted to welcome not one but two replica tall ships this week: the Pellew and Spirit of Falmouth, sailing with the Turn to Starboard charity on their 12 week “Full Circle” voyage around the UK.
Their crew shared that the kindness and welcome they received here in Wick was a highlight of their journey — something they’ll remember for the rest of their lives. That says everything about our town.
Thank you too, to the many talented local photographers who continue to capture the colours, sights and sounds of our busy working harbour. Their images really showcase Wick and the harbour and help share it with a wider audience.
The Wick Flowers displays are already looking amazing, with the tulips now in bloom. Looking forward to the summer displays.
