Location
Wick Harbour is strategically situated on the northeast
tip of mainland Scotland.

Approaches - Chart No 1462 refers
Outer Harbour - South Pier Sector Light flashing Green/White/Red
every 3 secs. Leading lights into Outer Basin are two fixed Red
lights in line, 20 metres apart, near root end of South Pier,
not visible until entrance is opened.
River Harbour - Harbour Bridge DIR.ISO.WRG 4s light. Entrance
between North and South River Piers marked by double Red and Green
vertical fixed lights.
Port Closed Signal - A black ball is hoisted by
day, or a fixed Green light shown by night, on a prominent mast
at South Head.
Harbour Radio
VHF Ch16, or working channel Ch 14 (during office

Port Data
The Harbour consists of three basins:-
The Inner Harbour is the main fishing and leisure
berthing area and gives access to the Slipway owned by the Harbour.
The Lifeboat berth is adjacent to the RNLI Station.
The Outer Harbour is used for temporary berthing,
fuelling, smaller cargo vessels and leisure berthing on our Marina Phase 1 from May to September.
The River Harbour is the main commercial quay, in
regular use, and larger vessels wishing to use this area should
consult the local information board or consult the Harbourmaster
about shipping movements.
Total quayage = 1366 metres.
Depth alongside-Inner/Outer = -1.71m. CD
River Basin = -5.00m. CD
There is a sandbar outside the River Basin, depth -2.60m CD. This
will be dredged, Summer 2007, check back for progress.
Max vessel length = 89m in summer.
Commercial Facilities and Services
Fishmarket
No longer in use for fish sales as all white fish
landings are consigned directly to clients.
The south-facing area of the roof was covered with
photovoltaic panels in 2004, and is now generating electricity
(max 22 Kw) which is fed into the local grid.
Plans are being formulated to develop this building
with the Marina Phase 2 to enhance visitor facilities, ie., larger
toilets and showers, laundry, rest room and perhaps new Harbour
Offices.

The Slipway is temporarily out of use pending major
repairs to the ramp rails and it's future is uncertain at this
time.
Toilet and shower facilities are available for
visitors at a nominal charge, situated on the Mart Jetty.

your stay, and please leave them as you find them.
